When International Paper decided to break ground on one of its largest distribution facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006, it was looking for ideas to increase productivity and improve safety. Fast charging was the answer.

The result? By eliminating the need to change batteries, International Paper reclaimed 40,000 hours per year in uptime, for an annual productivity benefit of $1M per year. Safety improved, too: by reducing truck traffic and sparing workers from the task of changing batteries, worker's compensation allocations went down significantly.

In 2010, and right on schedule, International Paper replaced the original batteries, re-leased the trucks and went on benefiting from the original decision to fast charge.
